會長的話:

新的學期即將來臨，很期盼和各位新家長與原有的家長見面，一起為新的一年努力。

家長會秉持一貫的原則，擔任各位家長與學校及理事會溝通的橋樑。我們聚集了一群熱心的家長為大家服務；最終的目的是希望我們的孩子在中文的領域上有所成長，而家長們亦可相互交換心得增進友誼。

家長會主要的服務項目為：全校師生中秋月餅的發放、春節紅包的發放、提供高中生十二年級仍在學於中文學校的獎學金，以及舉辦年度園遊會。另外，我們也協助理事會代售大華禮券及發放服務點數禮券。家長會的攤位每週均有人值班，並提供代購午餐盒，意者請於十點前至家長會服務處登記、繳款，並於中午十二時領取；同時，亦販賣為小朋友準備之早點、零食、及瓶裝水。

希望我們能一起把週六早晨經營的很豐富，也歡迎各位至家長會服務處提供寶貴的意見。願各位能有個美好的開始，期盼與各位的相見！

President's Message:

It’s school time again! 2008 – 2009 school year will be another great year for NOCCS. We are welcoming new students as well as returning students.

Back to school time often means changes for children and families; the first day of new classrooms, new teachers and new friends. Making a smooth transition between home, regular school and Saturday Chinese School can help children feel good about them. To ease the transition, NOCCA-PTA will provide assistance by placing a booth in front of Room # T-21. We will be there from 8:45am to 11:35am to answer any questions that parents may have. Breakfast, snacks and beverages will be on sale for everyone to enjoy during recess. Lunch box orders will be taken for families to take home hot, delicious and convenient Chinese food. Occasionally, we have book sales of donated Chinese children books to raise fund for PTA activities.

PTA always welcomes suggestions from families, particularly those of children who don’t speak Chinese. Parents can offer specific suggestions they have found useful for their children and advice on activities, classroom set-up and modifications.

Our role as PTA is a bridge of communication among the NOCCA Board, school and parents. The PTA activities we plan on providing this year are as follows:
(1) Moon cakes for all students and teachers during Moon Festival.
(2) Red envelopes to students during Chinese New Year
(3) Organize Spring Carnival on 3/14/2008
(4) Granting scholarships to high school graduating seniors
(5) Taking charge of tallying service points and returning service deposits to parents
(6) Selling snacks, beverages and lunch boxes on weekly basis
